Do Now 12/14

If I were to wear an invisible cloak there would be many things I would do, a few being sorting out traffic, I would help all the people worldwide with their chores, I would deliver as much food and clothing as possible to those in need of it, and lastly I would stop fights and bullying worldwide. The way I would help with the traffic would be by getting rid of whatever is causing the traffic. I would deliver food and money to those in need some examples of people that are in need would be the homeless, those in shelters, etc. I would also give those in need technology. Examples of technology I would give would be tablets, computers, etc.
I would also stop fights worldwide, by doing this I could save peoples lives and make someones day. The less bullying the less problems in our world, after I helped a victim I would take off my invisibility cloak and take the victim home. If lot's to good people had invisibility worldwide our world would be a lot better and there would be less problems.

Apple's new 4-inch iPhone will have A9 CPU & Apple Pay, launch in early 2016

The KGI Securities analyst, who has a strong track record in predicting Apple's future product plans, believes Apple's new 4-inch iPhone will resemble an upgraded iPhone 5s. The handset will come in a metal casing, and will feature identical camera specifications to the current entry-level iPhone. But in a key specification upgrade, Kuo said the new 4-inch iPhone will boast an A9 processor, as well as near-field communications technology for Apple Pay. He expects the device will cost between $400 and $500, with the goal of reaching emerging markets and consumers looking for a more affordable iPhone.

Do Now 11/30

Three people I am most grateful for in my life would be my mom, dad and my younger brother. I am most grateful for them because they have always helped me through the hard times. Every time I felt down my brother would always be there to cheer me up and tell me everything was going to be alright. Each time I didn't do so good on a school assignment my parents would be there to help me. I will always be most grateful for these three people because without them I would be nothing.
The best Thanksgiving I have ever had would be Thanksgiving of 2014. This would probably be described as my best Thanksgiving I have ever had because it took place at my house and my favorite cousin came over that I didn't see in about a year. My mom prepared the food and table really well. My cousin came over and we ate like we have never eaten before. We then proceeded to go to my brothers room where we threw pillows all around and overall just had a good , after that we went up to my room played some video games on my xbox and then went outside to play basketball. After that my cousin left and I immediately fell asleep.
My family and I usually prepare the table and the food in the living room. We set up all the plates, napkins, and glass cups a few hours before the guests arrive. We then prepare all the food and place it on the table so it is ready for the guest and lastly we bring out the Turkey and eat.

Fit App

Google on Thursday announced an update to its Fit app on Android. The health-tracking software will now provide real-time information on your walks, runs and bike rides. The Google Fit app will record your speed, pace, route, elevation and more using only your smartphone. This on top of its ability to already track steps, distance, active minutes, and calories burned throughout the day.
You will also be able to use Google Fit with your Android Wear smartwatch to track strength training. The software will able to detect activities like sit-ups, push-ups, and squats and then automatically add them to your daily workout stats. This is similar to functionality we have seen from third-party apps, such as Wear Fitness Personal Trainer.

Ten things I found that were incorrect/outdated on the Wood-Ridge High School Wikipedia would be...

  • The page says that the principle is Dr. Sue DeNobile. When clearly our principle has been changed and is now Mr. Petrocelli.

  • The Wikipedia website says that Wood-Ridge High School still does golfing. When actually Wood-Ridge High School haven't had golfing for years.

  • The Wiki says Wood-Ridge High Schools still has Tennis, but Wood-Ridge High School does not.

  • The Wikipedia is missing Administration members, it says there are two Administration members when in fact there are many more.

  • The number if students in the High School is outdated.

  • Outdated student to teacher ratio.

  • The name of the High School is incorrect it says it is Wood-Ridge High School when in fact the name is actually Wood-Ridge Jr./Sr. High School

Do Now 11/9

During this 4 day break I didn't do much. A new video game was released, so of course I played it. Most of my weekend was me just sleeping in bed. I went to church hung out with my friends and played some basketball to kill the time. I was also able to celebrate my birthday party were I hung out  with my best friends and played basketball and video games.
In addition I spent a lot of my time watching YouTube videos from famous YouTuber's such as RomanAtWood,Ali-A, and more! Overall I was just lazy and did pretty much nothing. But it was a good break and I'm looking forward to many more!

New Shopping App

The newly added category is called Shopping, it includes apps that have to do with marketplaces, auctions, coupons, price comparisons, and other aspects of e-commerce. Apps for these retailers will be included in a "Save While You Shop" section within the new Shopping category. A “Shop for Everything” section featured at the top of the home page breaks up a large number of apps into further categories like “Shop for Cozy” or “Shop for Gifts” to provide a few extra help in tracking down the right types of apps for the products shoppers want to buy. Developers can now also assign the category to new apps and app updates alike.

Educational Technology and Copyright Law

As I read through Mark Brumley's article titled "Educational Technology and Copyright Law" I very quickly realized that Mark was explaining very clearly the purpose of copyrighting work and how to use a copyright file correctly. This article is very informational and helped me learn a lot about copyrighting. A few examples of what I learned would be...

  • You do not need to file for copyrighting. The instant you create something it is copyrighted!
  • You can use other peoples photos for educational purposes such as to present project during class
  • Factors in determining if you used the work fairly includes the purpose of the use and the potential market value in it

Hackers Can Turn Siri and Google Now Against You

Hacker Can Turn Siri And Google Now Against You

According to a report from Wired though, a pair of researchers at ANSSI a French government agency have figured out a way to use radio waves to silently activate Siri or Android’s Google Now from across the room. The hack only works if the target device has Siri or Google Now enabled, and has headphones or earbuds plugged in that also have a microphone. The attack could be used to anything you can do using the Siri or Google Now voice interaction.  The attacker could make calls, send text messages, open  websites, send spam or emails, or post to social networks like Facebook and Twitter. Attacks like these are possible but unlikely.

Apple Ad-Blocking

Apple has removed several ad-blocking apps from its Store that created a risk of "man-in-the-middle" security breaches.  While Apple now permits ad-blockers for Safari, the banned apps also block ads from native apps by installing their own "root certificates" and shunting all traffic through a VPN. From there, they read the unencrypted traffic and remove ads, provided you enable the feature. While there were no reported breaches, Apple decided to pull the apps, noting that they "install root certificates which enable the monitoring of customer network data that can in turn be used to compromise SSL/TLS security solutions." Starting with iOS 9, Apple decided to allow regular ad-blockers for Safari and other browsers, provided they don't monitor user traffic.

Android powered Smartwatch

Swiss Watchmaking/Credit: Tag Heuer

Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer is gearing up to officially unveil its Android-powered smartwatch next month. CEO Jean-Claude Biver this week told CNBC'S Squawk on the Street that the company will raise the curtain on its smart wearable on Nov. 9 in New York.

The device will cost $1,800, Biver said, up from the $1,400 price tag floated earlier this year. It's also pricier than the new Apple Watch Hermes collection, which ranges from $1,100 to $1,500, but doesn't come close to the uber-expensive Apple Watch Edition, which runs as much as $17,000.

Biver previously told Bloomberg that the watch's battery will offer about 40 hours of power on a charge. That far exceeds the Apple Watch battery, which was designed to last 18 hours with normal use.

The company in March first announced plans to design and launch a Smartwatch by the end of the year in collaboration with Intel and Google.

Apple Car

Adding to rumors that have been circulating for months, the Wall Street Journal reported this week that Apple is working on an electric car project. According to the WSJ’s insider sources, the top-secret initiative is code-named “Titan,” and the company hopes to have an electric vehicle on the market by 2019.

 What we know so far:

—All Apple Cars will be initially available only in aluminum or white; other color options will be available several months later.

—The charging cord for the battery system will be nonstandard and proprietary to Apple, and will change with each new model.

—Apple Cars will be impossibly delicate, slippery, and prone to scratches unless wrapped in the optional Apple Car Case.

—The car will drive only on roads available from the iPavement Store.

—If the windshield is cracked   Apple will not replace it; you will need to replace the entire vehicle.

— For some reason, Siri will handle all left turns.

Web 2.0: Multimedia Blog Post

                                                    Web 2.0 Multimedia Blog Pre-Posting

As a freshman in Wood-Ridge High School your new to everything, you really don't know where you going and your pretty nervous. But after a while you get use to everything and things start to become familiar. The people you see, the hallways, and most of all the teachers. When the school year begins you like every teacher, as a freshman you don't really know any of the teachers and you have good chemistry with all of them. But after a while of being in the school you start to realize which teachers you like and dislike. And this doesn't just pertain to kids in high school it pertains to pretty much every kid. So I chose Ms. Garvin as my favorite teacher.
Ms. Garvin is my world history teacher, she knows how to teach and she is really nice in every class. As long as you behave and do all the in class and home work, and study you are guaranteed to pass the class with a A. But thats not why I chose Ms. Garvin as my favorite teacher. I chose Ms. Garvin because she is very loyal to all her students and gets the job done. There is and always will be a few flaws about every teacher whether or not its the amount of homework assigned or the amount of assessments you take there will always be a problem with every class. Even our favorite teachers have some problem with the way they teach. A few things I expect to learn this year in Ms. Garvin's class are about different era's, for example the Renaissance Era. So far this year the class has learned about the Renaissance, which to me is a great start to the school year. Some other things I expect to learn about are the history of America and it came to be, another thing I expect to learn about is World War I and II, and finally I expect to learn about all the different eras of Europe. I feel that I will have a great school year working with Ms. Garvin and  I hope to have a lot of fun. So far what I have learned to date is the Renaissance and all the famous artists and other interesting facts, such as the backstory to Leonardo Da Vinci.
Ms. Garvin's grading policy works like any other. Homework is worth 10%, quizzes are worth 40%, and tests are worth 50% of the students grade. A few interesting aspects of Ms. Garvin's class are that I like are that we don't get assigned too little or too much homework, another aspect I like is that We don't have to much to study for and tests are told to the class in advanced so you have plenty of time to study. The way we use technology in Ms. Garvin's class like any other. For example if the class is doing a project you may grab a laptop to assist you so you can look up information that may help you in the project. One final thing, you can check out this video about my class and I have been learning about so far this year. And finally here is a link to one of Ms. Garvin's online history sources.
